In 2015 Chip and Katy opened Mid-Michigan Garage Door in Linwood to specialize in garage door installation and repair. Mid-Michigan Garage Door is the go-to business for all types of garage doors and openers in communities throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.
From initial contact to final product, Chip and Katy personally visit your home or business, help with the design process and also get necessary measurements to insure accuracy. When you work with us, you know your garage door will work right the first time and every time..
Our Mission
Since the humble beginnings of Mid Michigan Garage Door, satisfying customers and building a great team to do so has always been our mission. Chip and Katy believe that a strong family, a strong home and a strong business all need to be built on a rock solid, strong foundation.
Our Team
Once Mid Michigan Garage Door started to become a household name and gain traction it was apparent that we were going to need help. It was time to build a team. A team of people with the same core principles as Chip and Katy. Over the last few years we have slowly but surely began to add core team members to get the job done correctly as we grow.
Chip Riggie - Owner/Founder
Chip is the founder of Mid Michigan Garage Door. He began the company in 2015 and now has a total of 22 years experience in the industry.
For the first few years in business, Chip would subcontract for other local garage door companies and do his own jobs afterwards.
Eventually, after building a great reputation, the phone began to ring steadily and there was no longer time to take on jobs for other companies. To this day you will find Chip performing installations and handling service calls along with working on other important business tasks.
Katy Riggie - General Manager
Katy is the general manager and head of sales for Mid Michigan Garage Door. You will often find her out on sales calls, talking to customers on the phone and sometimes even working in the field helping with installations and repairs.
Katy has over 20 years in customer service as she began working the customer service desk at Meijer in 2002 and is still very well known by the staff from her friendly personality.
Katy joined Mid Michigan Garage Door in 2018. She has proven to be an overall asset to the company for her great customer service skills and willingness to do whatever is necessary for Mid Michigan Garage Door to succeed.
Tony Murray - Lead Service Technician
Tony is our lead service technician. When your garage door or opener is broken, Tony is the friendly guy that shows up to repair it.
Tony started with Mid Michigan Garage Door in 2020 as an apprentice and has honed his skills to be a master service technician.
When it comes to repairing garage doors and openers, there isn’t much that Tony hasn’t seen and been able to repair or problem solve to resolve the issue.
Tony is experienced with both residential and commercial garage doors & openers and can resolve nearly any issue relating to either.
Allen Teppo - Lead Installer
Allen is our lead garage door installer. He got started in garage doors working for his step father's garage door company in the U.P. a few years ago. He has since joined our team installing residential and commercial garage doors and openers and has proven to be a huge asset to our team. If you are having a garage door installed, whether it is a replacement or new construction, Allen is the guy you want installing it. Allen is very meticulous and is a bit of a perfectionist. Making sure that your garage door is installed properly is Allen's main concern.
